As James Dusseau was cut off with only a dollar in his father Joseph Dusseau's Will, he contested the Will and the objection was removed on April 6, 1915. He had been encouraged by his sister Clara to bring suit against his father's
Will. (J 176, pg 257; Vol. 138, pg 265 (Execution Docket). Clara convinced Joseph's heirs to give him $75 and the objection was dropped April 6, 1915.
At the time of his father's death, James was living in Houston. TX. He later moved to New Orleans, according to his niece, Norma Dusseau Gray. It is presumed he died there. His ister, Lena Dusseau Bordo Shaffer of Los Angeles, CA, in August of 1959, also states that her brother proably died in New Orleans after 1914.
He was married to Daisy A. Hoover who started divorce proceedings against him in 1909. (Common Pleas: Cause 60801; August 12, 1909; petition file for Divorce; Septemvber 25, 1909, six weeks in the Toledo Bee; February 16, 1914. Augustine "Gus" F. LaVoy, 52 years, of Lambertville, died January 9, 2013, at his residence. Cremation has occurred. Friends may call at St. Alphonsus Church, Deerfield, Saturday, January 19, 2013, from 10:00 a.m. until the Mass of Resurrection at 11:00 a.m. Fr. Jack Loughran will officiate. Capaul Funeral Home, Ida, is in charge of arrangements. Born December 15, 1960, in Adrian, MI, Gus was the son of Harry and Mabel (Dawson) Lavoy. He was a 1979 Summer field High School Graduate, and received his Bachelor of Arts in Human resources from Toledo University. Gus was Vice President of Human resources for Kellermeyer Business Services in Toledo. He retired in 1998. A member of St. Alphonsus Church, Gus displayed great love and affection for his family, as well as all types of animals. He enjoyed music, the outdoors, and working in his flower garden. Along with his care giver Gus became involved with several charities servicing victims of AIDS and homeless indigents. His passion for travel and meeting new people was endless; his "storytelling" had no bounds. Gus' smile will be missed always. Survivors include: long-time companion and care giver, Anthony Thiros; sister, Renee (Christopher) Forche; brother, Gregory (Karen) LaVoy; nephews, Adam Forche, Clayton and Oliver LaVoy; nieces, Jessica and Jackie Forche, Holly Stevens; aunt and uncle, Inez (Richard) Moomey; many cousins; and faithful companion, "Monty" the Yorkie. Baptismal records of St. Joseph, Erie, MI, confirm this date of birth. This may be the "Adeline" in Ross "The Knaggs Family of Ohio and Michigan), p. 27. If so, she died of Diptheria in 1891 per Ross, "The Knaggs Family of Ohio and Michigan", p. 27. No other records ar known at this time. Baptized Helena on 15 March 1860, Ellen was born the day before. (St. Joseph's Baptism al Records, Erie, MI, Vol. III, p. 22) In the 1870 Census her age appears to be 16, but this is a misreading for 10.
The date of her death is found in her father's probate records (File #1981): 21 October 1873.
