- Augustine "Gus" F. LaVoy, 52 years, of Lambertville, died January 9, 2013, at his residence. Cremation has occurred. Friends may call at St. Alphonsus Church, Deerfield, Saturday, January 19, 2013, from 10:00 a.m. until the Mass of Resurrection at 11:00 a.m. Fr. Jack Loughran will officiate. Capaul Funeral Home, Ida, is in charge of arrangements. Born December 15, 1960, in Adrian, MI, Gus was the son of Harry and Mabel (Dawson) Lavoy. He was a 1979 Summer field High School Graduate, and received his Bachelor of Arts in Human resources from Toledo University. Gus was Vice President of Human resources for Kellermeyer Business Services in Toledo. He retired in 1998. A member of St. Alphonsus Church, Gus displayed great love and affection for his family, as well as all types of animals. He enjoyed music, the outdoors, and working in his flower garden. Along with his care giver Gus became involved with several charities servicing victims of AIDS and homeless indigents. His passion for travel and meeting new people was endless; his "storytelling" had no bounds. Gus' smile will be missed always. Survivors include: long-time companion and care giver, Anthony Thiros; sister, Renee (Christopher) Forche; brother, Gregory (Karen) LaVoy; nephews, Adam Forche, Clayton and Oliver LaVoy; nieces, Jessica and Jackie Forche, Holly Stevens; aunt and uncle, Inez (Richard) Moomey; many cousins; and faithful companion, "Monty" the Yorkie.
