thanks very much for your latest up date of the Sommers/LaVoy branch of the tree.
I get the feeling our successors in the very near future will not have as much fun piecing their ancestry together. All of us seem to be in a silent conspiracy to create a gigantic patchwork quilt of family trees. Their task will be to find out which date is correct when they find two or three different dates for a birth, marriage or death in two or more trees.
Many thanks for the many documents you are bringing to the light of day.

Guillaume Pepin's entry in Tanguay's genealogical dictionary is found in Vol. I, Pg. 472:
According to Tanguay, he was trustee (syndic) of Trois Rivieres, then judge of the seigneury of Champlain. He had been established at Trois Rivieres since 1634 on the spot where the community of Ursaline Nuns is found today. He is one of the ancestors of the Honorable Hector Langevin.
According to the English Language site of the L'Association des Familles Pepin, Guillaume Pepin was elected several times as Syndic of Trois Rivieres. i.e., representative of the people of Trois Rivieres at the Sovereign Council of New France and later for a short period of time he was judge of the Seigneury (domain) of Champlain.
On several occasions he took part in the defence of Trois Rivieres against the repeated attacks of the Iroquois Indians. A great land owner, he was given saeveral concessions, or pieces of land, and he also buys land in Nicolet, Cap-de-la- Madeleine, Champlain, Lac-Saint-Pierre, and, of course, in Trois Rivieres where he will reside the major part of his life.
Early in 1677, Jeanne Mechin, his wife, leaves this world at a young age of 47. No recordng of her burial has been found, as is also true for their marriage contract.
Guillaume Pepin 11 August 1697 at the age of 90 while still living along the St. Lawrence River in the home of his son, Pierre Pepin, Sr., dit LaForce, situated to day (2001) in St. Gregoire de Nicolet. Guillaume Pepin's body was carried across the river and buried in Trois Rivieres Cemetery.
