    • One of the first three land owners in Canada. He and his wife came to Canada in about 1614, according to Sulte, Histoire, II, p. 148. He signed a complaint with Champlain against the two companies in Canada on August 18, 1621 (Sulte, II, p.11), Pierre Des Portes held the title of Sieur de Lignere and was a member of the 100 Associartes (Cent-Associes)
