  • Notes
    • Victor Knaggs remained single throughout life. He was living with his mother Angeline and his sister Julia Knaggs around the turn of the XXth century. He was a section man on the Ann Arbor Railroad. Information obtained from Robert B.Ross "The Knaggs Family of Ohio and Michigan.

Victor's birth date was obtained from the Baptismal Records of St. Jospeh, Erie, MI. His godparents were Peter Petit and Angeline Labadie.

Victor's brother, Rollie, stated his brother Victor, though illiterate, was quite wealthy. Victor develed a system of colored strings and papers to signify reasons for borrowing money and by whom with the amount that was borrowed kept in cans and bottles with the strings and papers.

His grave is in St. Joseph Cemetery. Erie, MI and is marked with a polished granite tombstone and it appears he also had his parents' tombstones made of the same material as his was. They are burried next to him. His brother Alex Knaggs is also buried next to him in an unmarked grave.

Victor is said to have lived in a house just north of his parents on Dixie Rd. When he died there was a mass scramble by people who knew his wiays, looking for buried treasure in his yard and house. The house no longer stands as it was burnt down after his death.
