    • Julia Trombley became Sister M. Gudula of Mt. Carmel, a nun of the Notre
Dame Sisters, St. Mary's Convent, Notre Dame IN. Her burial and
gravestone can be found on the grounds of St. Mary's Convent and it
was personally inspected by Patrick L. Tombeau. A letter from this
convent confirms Sister Gudula's identity as Julia Trombley and her
parents. A.J. Larabell her grand-nephew indicated he had a letter from her in 1900,
signed Sister Mary Gudula of Mt. Carmel.

      In a letter dated September 1, 1964 to A.J. larabell, Julia's grand
nephew, the archivist of the Sisters of the Holy Cross, St. Mary's
Convent, Notre Dame, IN, confirms her religious title as Sister Gudula
of Mt. Carmel. The letter goes on to say that she was born January 9,
1850. Her parents were Mary Baumes and John Tremblez, but she registered
as Trombley. Her sponsor at the time of baptism was Euphrosine Tremblez
(Julia's older sister). Julia died on June 28, 1901and is buried at
      St. Mary's.

The letter is signed "Sister Joan of Arc, C.S.C., archivist".
