- According to statements made by A.J. Larabell to Patrick L. Tombeau on June 27, 1964, "before being married, Mary Alice jarvis was a postulant with the Sisters of Monroe, MI. She was married to a drunken abusive Irishman Thomas Murphy, with which she had three children; Dominic, Theresa, and Frances. Mary Alice died of 'quick consumption' in 1906"
Charles Jarvis, brother to Mary Alice, confirms she was married to Tom Murphy and that theylived in Toledo, OH.
