Notes |
- Esther Mary Jarvis died June 9, 1894 in Rockwood, MI, in child birth. Child died as well. She is buried in Rockwood, MI. Information on this branch was given by their son A . J. Larabell, their son, amateur genealogist, and long time corrspondent with Patrick L. Tombeau. On the othr hand, her nephew Charles Jarivs state she died of "quick consumption", suffering for about a year at age 23. (She actually died at age 26.) Charles may have confused her with her sister Mary Alice Jarvis, wife of Thomas Murphy, who died of "quick consumption" at an early age (28). (See her entry)
Charles describes his Aunt Esther as an extraordinarily beutiful woman whose black hair reached to the ground.
Her grandson, A.J. Larabell remembers the death bed scene as a small boy. His grandmother, Mary Trombley Jarvis, with candle in hand to greet the priest, chased him out of his mother's room with the other hand, as the priest entered the room to hear his mother's confession and to administer the Last Rites of the Catholic Church.
