- Willard fought in WWI and lived as a bachelor in Ft. Custer, MI. He suffered from shell shock and had a leg amputated. His nick name was "Bedy" (Bee-dee). He is buried in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
Holy Sepulchre Cemetary record indicates that he died of coronary thrombosis.
He is buried in Grave #10, Section 14, Lot 386 by McFarland Funeral Home and was of the Parish of St. Clement of Dearborn, MI.
