    • See the following site for an update on the Tanguay data: La Site Officiel de la Ville de Dieppe: http://www.mairie-dieppe.fr/boussole/boussole.php?pg=/canada/canada-partispourle.htmlhttp://www.mairie-dieppe.fr/boussole/boussole.php?pg=/canada/canada-partispourle.html

This site records that both Jean and Marguerite Cochon, full brother and sister, are the childen of Jehan Cochon/Cauchon and Marguerite Cointerel (m. 1619, Dieppe) and that Jean is not the son of Jehan's second wife Jeanne Abrahum (b. 1622; m. 4 April 1633, St. Jacques de Dieppe). Other internet sites also state this same parentage for Jean Cochon.

See also Tanguay, Vol. 1, p. 133 for certain differences in the rcords: Tanguay has a marriage date for Jehan as 1617 in St. Martin, Dieppe, France whereas La Site Officiel de la Ville Dieppe has the marriage year as 1619 in St. Jacques, Dieppe, France. Tanguay refers to him in a note as an honorable man who came from France with his second wife and children. His second wife was Jeanne Abraham, who according to La site Officiel de la Ville de Dieppe, is not the mother of Jean Cochon. See Tanguay, Vol. 1, p. 133, for Jehan's children Marguerite and Jean Cochon. (see also thissite for confirmation of above changes: http://mywebpages.comcast.net/jwstonge/html/fam02315.htm
