Feb. 27, 1943 Northbrook, Ill - Joanna Elizabeth Traynor. PJ; 6/6/1994: Paul W. Winter, 83, of 52 Hammond St., Jamestown, formerly of Punta Gorda, Fla. died at 5:53 a.m. today (June 6, 1994) in WCA Hospital. He was born Dec. 19, 1910, in Rock Falls, Ill., the son of Howard F. and Kathryn M. Fluck Winter. A Bemus Point resident for 35 years, until retiring to Punta Gorda, he built, co-owned and operated Traynor and Winter Restaurant Cabins and Motel in Bemus Point for 20 years. He had also been employed as a bus driver and transportation supervisor for the Bemus Point Central School for 22 years. Winter was a member of the First United Methodist Church, of which he was past board member, an exempt member of the Bemus Point Fire Department, a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows for 48 years, and a member of the New York State Association of Pupil Transportation. Surviving are his wife, Joanna Traynor Winter, with whom he observed their 51st wedding anniversary, Feb. 27, 1994; two daughters: Jane Winter Lindbloom, Jamestown; Kay Loffler, San Pedro, Calif.; four grandchildren: Jessica Lindbloom, Jamestown, Janine Wright, Oklahoma City, Okla., Paul Wright, Sacramento, Calif., Gary Wright Jr., Las Vegas, Nev.; two brothers, Russell Winter, Jamestown, Harry Winter, Las Vegas; two sisters: Olive Dobbins, Elgin, Ill., Mabel Schmidt, Kewaskum, Wis. He was preceded in death by three brothers: Charles, John, and Lloyd Winter. A memorial service will be at 4 p.m., Wednesday, in Christ Chapel of the First United Methodist Church. The Rev. Dr. Gene M. Ferguson, pastor, and The Rev. LeRoy Lundgren, visitation pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the Bemus Point Cemetery. Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service on Wednesday, in the church, where an Odd Fellows memorial service will be at 3:30 p.m., Wednesday. The family suggests memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, or the Jamestown Adult Day Care Center, c/o The First United Methodist Church. Arrangements are by the Lind Funeral Home.
