- II-5-7: Katherine Fluck, the seventh child of Aaron Fluck, Sr., and Lyd- ia Ann Tombow, was born 31 May 1877 (Fluck Bible). She married Howard Franklyn Winter 9 December 1902 in Rock Falls, IL, at home. Howard Winter was born 4 November 1878 in Westminster, MD, the son of William Winter and Lucinda Barbara Ashbaugh. Howard Winter came to Illinois in 1898.
Information on this branch of the family was obtained from Mabel Winter Schmidt, the daughter of Kathrine (Katie) Fluck and Howard Winter. Mrs. Mabel (John) Schmidt lived at 179 Wheeling Ave, Wheeling, IL., in 1989.
The 1910 Federal Census for Whiteside County, IL, has the following entry for Howard and Katie Fluck Winter (Hahnoman Township, entry 80/80):
Winters, Howard, age 32, farm manger, born in MD, as were parents. Catherine, age 33, wife, born in IL, parents in PA. John, age 5, son, born in IL Charlie, age 4, son, born in ND Mabel, age 2, daughter, born in ND
The above entries indicate that Howard and Katied moved to North Dakota from about 1905 to 1908. Mrs. Scmidt, their daughter indicates in her family sheet that her parents lived in many many places during her childhood. He was a carpenter and a farmer.
Howard married a second time to Martha Wolf and a third time to Louisa Marihary Busse. He died 8 April 1959 in Oelwein, IA. He is buried at Rand Hill Cemetery, Arlington Heights, IL.
Katie Fluck Winter was a nurse and midwife. She died in Palatine, IL., 27 July 1938 and is buried Rand Hill Cemetery, Arlington Heights, IL. She belonged to the united Evangelical Church.
Howard Winter and Katherine (Katie) Fluck had eight children: John, Charles, Mabel, Paul, Harry, Ollie, Russell, and Lloyd Robert Winter.
II-5-7-1: John Winter, the first child of Howard and Katie Fluck Winter, was born 17 July 1904 in Rock Falls, IL. He married twice: (l) Myrtle Busse on 26 November 1926 in Oelwein, IA. and (2) to M. Eileen.
John Winter and Myrtle Busse had two children: Theodore Winter and Kenneth Winter.
II-5-7-1-1 Theodore Winter ("Ted") married Virginia. They had five children: Ralph, John, Carrol, Roger, and Rolland, Winter.
II-5-7-1-2 Kenneth Winter married Lois. They had two children: Clark and Sherry Winter.
II-5-7-2: Charles Winter, the second child of Howard Winter and Katie Fluck, was born 25 April 1906 in Devil's Lake, ND. He married Lydia Elsie Busse 23 May 1929 in Wadina, IA. He died 21 October 1974 in Oelwein, IA, and is buried in Wadena, IA. Charles and Lydia Busse Winter had two children: Francis Winter and Katherine Winter.

II-5-7-3: Mabel Katheryne Winter, the third child of Howard and Katie Fluck Winter was born 24 August 1908 in Cando, ND. She married John William Schmidt 20 February 1926 in Hinsdale, Illinois, John Scmidt was born 7 Novmber 1895. Living in 1989 in Wheeling, IL, age 89. Mabel resided at 179 Wheeling Ave, Wheeling, IL, 60090. in 1989 with her husband John. They had two children: Elizabeth Jane Schmidt and Robert Lloyd Schmidt.
II-5-7-3-1: Elizabeth Jane Schmidt, born 5 December 1926, married Elmer Ray Hallen on 23 February 1947. Elizabeth and Elmer had three children: Peggy Ann Hallen, Terry Lee Hallen and Kitty Lou Hallen.

Robert Charles Schmidt, adopted by Robert Lloyd Schmidt, is the son of Phillis Carroll. He was born 13 July 1947 and married Linda Kay Lease on 4 November 1968. Robert Charles and Linda have two children: Danielle Susan Schmidt, born 29 August 1969 and Christopher Michael Schmidt, born 29 November 1973.
