- William Sidney Tambeau was born in Olyphant, PA., 20 August l926. He obtained a B.A. in Social Work from Brooklyn College, Brooklyn, N.Y. He also held ACSW accreditation. Before retirement he was a medical social worker for the Moses Taylor Hospital in Scranton, PA. William has a published book entitled "Mechanic on the Job", published by the union local 371 of the National Association of Social Workers, accordint to his son Lee Tambeau.
William S. Tambeau married Louise Althea Ninehan, a cousin, the daughter of William Albert (Jacobs) Ninehan and Kathleen Loftus, 30 August l948 in Brooklyn, NY, at St. Augustine Church. Louise ("Althea") Ninehan was born l8 January l929 in Scranton, PA. After moving from Brooklyn, William and Althea Ninehan Tambeau resided at 607 Edgar St., Throop, PA. William S. Tambeau died l6 June l984, Scranton, PA, of of colorectal cancer. In looks he had his father's robust "Dutch" body frame.
In e-mail, dated 5/14/1999, one of his sons indicated that he had four benign polyps removed and it is noted that Willaim's first cousin, Patrick L. Tombeau has had several polyps removed in the late 1990's.
William Sidney Tambeau and Althea Ninehan had five children: Craig, Lee, Stephen, Clayton, and Nancy Tambeau.
