  According to Fr, Denissen's Genealogy of French Canadian Families of the Detroit River Region, Charles obtained on 14 July 1734 from the French Government a patent of land known as the Church Farm or Private Claim #16. In 1762, his heairs sold the farm to Guillaume Bernard, another ancestor of mine.
