      SULIER Edward J., Sr. Edward J. Sulier, Sr., 91 years, of Temperance, MI, passed away Wednesday, May 5, 2010, in Aspen Grove in Lambertville, MI. For 30 years he was an electrician for Lake Front Docks in Toledo and formerly worked construction and farmed the family farm. The son of Jay and Frances (LaVoy) Sulier he was born April 8, 1919 in Toledo, OH. He was a 1937 graduate of Central Catholic High School. On June 10, 1950 he married Rosemary Badger in St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church in Toledo. She preceded him in death in 2003. Edward was a WWII U.S. Army Veteran serving in the European Theatre winning 7 Bronze Battle Stars and served as NCO for Bomb Disposal and Gas Recognition. Ed was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Erie, MI, Knights of Columbus 3rd and 4th degree, Erie VFW Post #3925, where he was the 2nd Post Commander, and a 65 year member of IBEW Local #8. Ed served as an usher at St. Vincent DePaul, Blessed Sacrament, and St. Joseph's Church. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and a devoted friend. He is survived by his loving children Patricia (Noah Roselander) Sulier, Ed Jr. "Chip" (Sandy) Sulier, Donald (Pam Jones) Sulier, Cheryl Sulier, Richard "Red" (Linda) Sulier, Anita Fuelling, Major Robert (Jean) Sulier U.S. Army; Sisters, Esther Meyers, Suzanne (George) VanGoey; Brother, Frederick (Dorothy) Sulier; Grandchildren Jimmy, Jackie, Jessica, Nicole, Matt, Christopher, and Great-Grandson, Austin. He was also preceded in death by a Son Raymond, Brothers Thomas, Gilbert, and Raymond Sulier; and Sisters Rita Morrin and Phyllis Price-Hatt. Visitation will be held in the Bedford Funeral Chapel, 8300 Lewis Avenue, Temperance, MI, on Saturday from 6 until 8 PM and Sunday from 2 until 8PM. Erie VFW Post #3925 will conduct services Sunday at 6:30PM followed by Knights of Columbus St. Joseph Council praying the Rosary at 7:00PM followed by Bishop Hoffman's Assembly #308 4th Degree ceremony and presentation of the Chalice. The Funeral Mass will be Monday at 11AM in St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Erie, MI where he will lie in state after 10AM. The Mass will be concelebrated by the Father Al Cereenowski and Edward's Brother- in- law Fr. Art Badger. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Military Honors. The family thanks Erie West Hospice, Aspen Grove, and St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center for all of their care and concern.
