- Robert “Bob” H. Zink, age 92 years of Temperance, MI, died Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at the Toledo Hospital. Born July 26, 1917 in Toledo, OH, he was the son of Norman and Anna (Burke) Zink. A US Navy veteran of WWII, he married Rita LaVoy on August 30, 1940 in Erie, MI. Bob was employed as a tool & die maker for AP Parts in Toledo for 18 years, retiring in 1983. Prior he worked for American Lincoln for 29 years. He was a member of the Bedford Senior Center and charter member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Temperance, MI. Surviving are his loving wife 69 years, Rita. Children, Mary (James) Karl, David (Deborah) Jeffery (Holly), Robert (Rita), Michael (Joanne), Thomas Zink, 20 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Ray and Chester Zink. Visitation will be from 2-9 pm Thursday at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd., Temperance, MI. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 12:00 Noon at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, Temperance, MI, where he will lie in state after 11:00 am. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church.
