- Charles died at the Sanitorium in Custer, S.D. where he died of "galloping T.B." on February 14, 1930. He had suffered from a cold the previous September from which he never recovered. His funeral services were held at the Masonic Temple and he was buried and he was buried in Riverside Cemetery, Chamberlain. Hundreds came to pay their respects and the Temple was not able to contain the mourners. He was 11 years old when he came to S.D. with his parents. He had 11 children, two of them dying in infancy. He was a farmer near Chamberlain. His wife came from Hawarden, Iowa but was born in Sweden. (See obits)
