Notes |
- In a Toledo (OH) News Bee article, dated September 9, 1957, a reunion with his two borthers, Benjamin of Monroe, MI, and Noah of Superior, WI, is reported. This reunion occurred after a 47 year absence when they lost track of each other. Al or Charles- he is known by both names- was a stone mason as a young man and helped build the old Cathedral on Superior and Cherry Strees "and many another well-known building" in Toledo, OH. He spoke fluent French and English and a little German. In the article brags about out-bluffing a 40-pound raccon in a tree as a boy.
